In an active civil litigation practice for more than 40 years, Dave is respected for his work with personal injury, product liability and construction claims. He frequently serves as a mediator or arbitrator on such claims. A graduate of Washington State University and the University of Idaho College of Law, he is a managing principal of Irwin, Myklebust, Savage & Brown, P.S. Dave is also a member of the state bar of Idaho.
Dave is dedicated to his profession as well as his practice. He has a long history of service to the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) and the Idaho Bar Association (ISB).
In 2001, he became a Governor of the WSBA; in 2003-2004, he served as its President. He is the WSBA’s first president from southeastern Washington and is one of the few Bar presidents drawn from Washington’s non-metropolitan areas. He currently serves as Chair of the WSBA Judicial Recommendation Committee. He previously served as a member and chair of both the Court Rules Committee and the Litigation Section and as a hearing officer for the WSBA Disciplinary Board. He served as a trustee of the Washington State Bar Foundation and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Washington Leadership Institute. He has contributed to the Washington Civil and Evidence Manual and the Washington Civil Procedure Deskbook and has been a regular seminar speaker. Dave and Sally P. Savage, his spouse, a WSBA member, established the President and Governor’s Diversity Scholarship Fund in 2004.
He joined the Idaho State Bar Association in 1991 and has served on both the IOLTA Fund Committee and the Lawyer Referral Service Committee. Since 1994 to date, he serves as a member of the Arbitration Panel.
Dave is proud to have been selected in 2005 for the President’s Award by the Loren Miller Bar Association and in 2007 by the Washington State Bar Association for the Excellence in Diversity Award.
